David McDevitt

 

David is a lifelong resident of Effingham, Illinois and currently resides in Effingham with his wife, Julie, and three daughters, Madeline, Emily, and Caroline.  David graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1984, attended Lake Land College and Quincy College, before earning a bachelors degree in Finance from Eastern Illinois University in 1989.  David received his Juris Doctorate from St. Louis University School of Law in 1992.

 

Since graduating from law school, David has been engaged in the practice of law in Effingham, and primarily in the Fourth Judicial Circuit.  He also serves as a mediator for several central Illinois courts.

 

David is a trial lawyer, concentrating his practice in civil litigation, including family law, personal injury, and estate and probate litigation.  He has tried hundreds of cases throughout his career in virtually all areas of civil litigation.  David’s representation of clients is characterized by his compassion, intelligence, and integrity.

 

David is very involved in the Effingham community, serving as a board member for the following organizations: Effingham Park District (President since 2010), Effingham County 708 Mental Health Board,  Illinois Association of Park Districts, St. Anthony Educational Trust,  Strategic Training and Restoration and numerous other organizations.
